Road modeled on Champs-Elysees opens in central Tokyo

TOKYO, Japan - A newly built road between the Shimbashi and Toranomon business districts in central Tokyo opens to traffic on March 29, 2014. The new road, part of the capital's loop No. 2, will eventually be connected with bayside areas where the athletes' village and competition venues will be built for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. A 52-story, 247-meter "Toranomon Hills" building, the second-highest building in Tokyo, is seen in the back.
